Lake St. Louis - Until now, the best kept secret in Missouri.

If you are considering a move to the area west of St. Louis, you owe it to yourself to come and see this hidden gem.  As a seven year resident and full time real estate agent, I love showing people around and seeing their eyes widen and mouth water at all of the amenities we enjoy in the heart of the fast growing I-70/I-40 corridor in St. Charles County.  We have two lakes, two golf courses and very active social life available to residents that live within the boundries of the Lake St. Louis Community Association.  If you have an interest in any homes in Lake St. Louis, contact me for more information.  I can be reached at 636-579-9445 or jredfield@prudentialalliance.com.

You can look through the Multiple Listings for homes in this exciting community by visiting my website at http://www.jredfield.com.  In the upper right, you will find a link to a new map based search of our MLS.

    Hello Jim~

I asked a similar question on the Arkansas forum as there are a lot of lake communities there, I am looking to move to a lake community but would like the lake to be able to accomodate a decent size boat, 25-30' feet as well as jet skis, does Lake St. Louis allow this?

Any rules for the lake/community that you may have would be great!  Thanks for any info. you can provide.

There are two lakes in Lake St. Louis, one is ~ 550 acres and the other is ~ 75 acres.  There are limitations on boat length and engine size.  I refer you to the Lake St. Louis Community Association rules and regulations document (http://www.lslca.com/docs/BOATING%20RULES%202007%20Revised%205-22-07.doc).  The LSLCA website is http://lslca.com.  There are no jetskis allowed on either lake.

Engine size on the small lake is 9.9 hp.

Sounds like Lake St. Louis may not accomodate your needs but the Mississippi Riiver is just a few miles away and you can put about anything on it.

Another possibility is Mark Twain Lake, (http://www.marktwainlake.com) about 1.5 hours north and a little west of Lake St Louis.  It is an Corps of Engineers lake and will accomodate about anything you want.  As a Corps lake, you cannot build on the lake.  There are two marina's available but the wait list is about 2 years for a slip.  You can, of course, trailor your water craft as you wish.  Mark Twain is a very popular weekend home destination for people in this area.  It is a very quiet getaway location.

     I hope this helps.

     Jim

Not exactly the news that I wanted to hear but you're just telling the truth - I'm grateful for that.  I will look into Mark Twain more but think it is further than I would like to trailer a boat especially with gas costing so much $$$.
